* Thursfield's wild ride
David Thursfield, Ford's executive vice president, president of international operations and global purchasing, experienced first-hand the crashworthiness of the new Jaguar XJ sedan.
Thursfield was en route to the airport in London to catch a plane to Geneva when a vehicle driving at high speed hit the XJ he was traveling in from behind. The XJ spun around but still carried on running.
Thursfield continued on his way to the airport and made his flight, pleased at how well the new car had held up.
