Safety systems specialist Autoliv opened a new indoor test center in Vargarda, Sweden, to simulate rollover accidents.
Rollovers account for a quarter of the 10,000 traffic fatalities a year in the USA. Rollovers are also the fastest growing traffic-related killer in Europe, according to Autoliv.
Because it is indoors, the center's climate can be controlled to simulate consistent road and weather conditions. The center also offers a high level of security for models still under development.
Autoliv invested more than [euro]10 million in the center.
