Automotive Lighting was set up in 1999 as a 50-50 joint venture between Germany's Bosch and Italy's Magneti Marelli. Magneti Marelli's stake was boosted to 70 percent when Seima - an Italian rear and signal lighting supplier - was incorporated into the business. Magneti Marelli acquired Seima for [euro]160 million at the end of 1999.
Automotive Lighting's total revenue in 2001 was [euro]1.04 billion.
