VW deals help European Tier 1s in Asia.(Suppliers)

The Volkswagen group is helping European Tier 1 suppliers increase their sales in Asia - particularly in China - as business slows in other key global markets.

Wolfgang Dehen, CEO of German automotive electronics supplier Siemens VDO, says he expects the Asian share of his company's sales to double in the next few years to 12 percent.

Swedish safety systems specialist Autoliv posted a 50 percent sales gain in China last year and expects to see "healthy growth" there again in 2003, says CEO Lars Westerberg.
