German truck maker MAN is negotiating with Chinese investment company D'Long on a deal to produce heavy trucks in China, said MAN head of sales Fred van Putten.
The discussion centers on building large semi-tractor-trailer units near Shanghai.
D'Long has purchased Chinese truck maker China National Heavy Duty Truck, van Putten said. China National is already a license partner of the MAN plant in Steyr, Austria. But van Putten believes the two truck makers can reach agreement on a broader relationship.
