MG ROVER - Alfonso Saavedra, 53, has been appointed managing director of MG Rover Espana. He succeeds Jacques Muller, who is retiring after 24 years in the job.

Saavedra joins MG Rover Espana from Kia France, where he was managing director.

GENERAL MOTORS EUROPE - Tony Cervone, 40, will join GM Europe as executive vice president, communications, on July 1. He is currently executive director, executive financial communications, at GM Corp. in Detroit.
