Mini cabrio on way

MUNICH - BMW will build a cabriolet version of the Mini, said CEO Helmut Panke. The car will have four seats and will be launched in summer 2004. A cabriolet version of the 6 series and the new 1 series will also be introduced next year.

This year, BMW is launching the new 5 series, the X3 compact sport-utility and the 6 series coupe. Panke said the product offensive is "not a one-off, non-recurring burst of power. We are shifting up to a higher gear on a permanent basis."
