The new C2 gives Citroen an entry-level vehicle below the C3 for less than the cost of a separate platform.
Citroen will launch the supermini this autumn, giving PSA/Peugeot-Citroen a second major derivative of its C3 platform this year.
By shortening the C3 platform to create a three-door supermini to succeed the Saxo, Citroen fills another segment with a minimum of investment. The C3 was launched a year ago as a five-door.
