Front-wheel drive, transverse engine

Ford has kept the BE91 platform going solely because of the success of the Ka. The old Fiesta based on this platform has been replaced. With the introduction of Streetka and Sportka this year, the platform will keep going probably at least until 2006. Ford is studying possible replacements.
