Audi is considering producing a high-end sports car priced above the TT that would be based on the Nuvolari concept vehicle.

The Nuvolari debuted at the Geneva auto show in March.

"We are currently investigating customer demands and market opportunities," said Audi spokesman Axel Catton. "Questions about seating arrangement, engine options and the actual size of the car are key in this research."

Audi is likely to decide soon whether to build the new sports car.
