AUTOMAKERS - especially General Motors and Ford in the USA - are putting pressure on suppliers to either move more operations to China or else match the prices of parts exported from China.
There's less pressure here, though European carmakers, including the local Ford and
GM operations, see China as an important benchmark. Some European automakers and top-tier suppliers are aggressively pushing their vendors to do more in China.
