An all-new Opel Astra will be in dealerships in Germany by March 2004, Opel Chairman Carl-Peter Forster told German sister publication Automobilwoche.

The five-door hatchback will be the first of many versions of the Astra.

A new Caravan station wagon version is scheduled to follow in October 2004. A three-door coupe-like derivative will be on sale at the end of 2004 at the earliest.
