IAA security
FRANKFURT - The 850,000 visitors to the Frankfurt IAA in September face tighter security.
Terrorists attacked the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington at the beginning of the last IAA two years ago, causing a security crisis.
Kunibert Schmidt, IAA chief organizer, said lessons have been learned from the 2001 crisis and communication among police, exhibitors and VDA, the show organizers, is better.
"The police presence will increase significantly, particularly in the entrance area," he said.
