For Volkswagen, building 1,001hp 16-cylinder Bugatti supercars may be easier than selling them at [euro]1 million each.
Bugatti Automobiles President Karl-Heinz Neumann's aggressive salesmanship has alienated some prospective buyers and he is under pressure.
Some reports speculate he will be fired. But a Volkswagen source said that instead, VW will appoint a senior sales manager.
Neumann himself denies it.
"I am the president of the company," he said. "I am responsible for development and I am the salesman."
