Renault to shift plants for minivan.(News)(Brief Article)

Renault's decision to build a small minivan at Valladolid, Spain, starting in late 2004 will force a manufacturing shift.

Renault's new minivan, code-named JT77, will be positioned between the Twingo and Scenic. Sales will start in early 2005. It will compete with the Opel Meriva and Ford Fusion.

"It will be the first time Renault has built a model in Spain that has not been produced in France," said Juan Antonio Fernandez Sevilla, chairman of Renault Spain.
