Leading component manufacturers are pooling resources in France to grab a chunk of one of the auto industry's most profitable businesses: car servicing.
Autodistribution France, or AD, Delphi, Bosch and Valeo plan to operate 50 French auto technical centers by the end of the year and 100 by 2005.
This move comes as new European Union rules on distribution and servicing make it easier for carmakers' dealers and sub-dealers to seek outside help for servicing or outsource it altogether.
