The battle between particulate filter manufacturers has begun.
At stake is a market worth billions of euros, as demand for diesel cars grows and automakers race to meet stringent European emission laws.
So far ArvinMeritor, Eberspacher, Faurecia and Tenneco are the market leaders in developing particulate filters. Bosch plans to enter the market in 2005 when tougher European Union emission standards take effect.
