German convertible-top specialist CTS Car Top Systems GmbH has opened its first manufacturing plant in North America here.
The factory is near the GM plant that makes the Cadillac XLR and Chevrolet Corvette.
CTS, which is based in Hamburg, Germany, initially is handling final assembly of the retractable hard top, a type of convertible top for the XLR roadster.
