Nissan plans to sell 530,000 cars this year in Europe - including eastern Europe and Russia - an 11 percent increase over last year.
September was Nissan's best month of 2003 because of gains in France.
Mario Canavesi, Nissan Europe senior vice-president sales and marketing, said Nissan's market share in France jumped to 1.84 percent from 1.4 percent due to high demand for Renault-powered diesel versions of the Micra and Almera.
France is Nissan's fifth-biggest market in Europe.
