Germany's Twin-Tec to enter filter aftermarket; Twin-Tec sees sales potential of 500,000 units in 2004.(News)(Brief Article)

Twin-Tec intends to be the first in Europe to offer aftermarket diesel-particulate filters to retrofit on older car models.

Twin-Tec's filter is scheduled to hit the aftermarket in early 2004.

The potential market for the emission-reducing system in Germany in 2004 is 500,000 vehicles, or 6 percent of the country's diesel models, said Twin-Tec spokesman Rainer Werthmann.

He said the filter will be available for 1.9-liter TDI diesel versions of Volkswagen group cars such as the fourth-generation Golf, Audi A3, Seat Toledo and Skoda Octavia ...
