Three large western suppliers have announced major new projects in China.
The biggest is Bosch's plan to establish a joint venture to develop and produce electronic diesel fuel injection systems for the Chinese market starting in the second half of 2004.
The new operation is expected to grow from [euro]100 million in sales in its first year to [euro]500 million by 2008, Bosch says.
Bosch already had [euro]1 billion in sales in China in 2002 through wholly owned subsidiaries and holding companies. It employs 9,000 people there.
