Volvo could start production of its S40 sedan in China in late 2005 or early 2006.
In addition, the Swedish manufacturer's XC90 sport-utility has been such a big success that Volvo is looking to increase capacity again at its Torslanda plant here.
No final decisions have been made.
Both potential moves are part of the Swedish car company's drive to gradually increase global production from 415,000 to 600,000 vehicles a year.
