Skoda will continue producing the current Octavia until at least 2005 - more than a year after the next-generation Octavia goes on sale.
The new model will go to western European and Czech markets while the older Octavia will be sold primarily in eastern Europe, said a source within Skoda.
"There still is a big interest in it," he said. "It's a very well-liked model."
