Fiat Auto reversed its decision to count Italian sales of its old and new Panda separately - and regained second place in Italian sales.

Last year, Fiat sold 67,820 old Pandas and 24,873 of the new generation, a total of 92,693 units.

Fiat had separated sales to avoid confusion, but doing so put the Citroen C3 in the No. 2 spot in November behind the best-selling Fiat Punto.

On second thought, Fiat decided it preferred a 1-2 overall finish in 2003 over 1-3.
