PSA joins Autosar electronics venture
PSA/Peugeot-Citroen has joined the Autosar joint electronics venture. Autosar (Automotive Open System Architecture) was founded in September to develop common basic electronics systems and interfaces.
Autosar's core partners include automakers BMW, Volkswagen, DaimlerChrysler, Ford and Toyota plus equipment manufacturers Bosch, Continental and Siemens VDO.
The first vehicles based on the new standards are expected to be introduced starting in 2008.
