GM boss: More suppliers in China
Detroit - China is a great opportunity for the auto industry to develop a new supplier base, said Rick Wagoner, General Motors chairman.
Wagoner said auto electronics is a potential growth area for supply companies in China "because the country's wiring systems industry is well-developed."
The machine-tool sector will grow slower because the steel industry is not yet well adapted to international standards, said Wagoner.
GM sells its Buick and Chevrolet brands in China and will introduce the Cadillac brand next year.
