DaimlerChrysler has begun searching for suppliers in China to make low-cost parts for its operations worldwide.

A team formed last month is seeking local parts sources for a Mercedes-Benz plant that will begin assembling cars in Beijing next year.

The same suppliers could provide parts for DaimlerChrysler's worldwide operations, said DaimlerChrysler China CEO Roman Fischer.
