The new Peugeot 407 is assembled at PSA/Peugeot-Citroen's Rennes, France, facility alongside its PF3 platform sibling, the Citroen C5.

US supplier TRW Automotive provides the 407's ABS and ESP (electronic stability program) braking systems. TRW has similar contracts for Volkswagen's next-generation Passat, a 407 competitor in the upper-medium segment. The new Passat, which led the segment in 2003 with an 18.3 percent market share, arrives next year. The contracts are TRW's first ESP wins with Europe's top two automakers.
