Volkswagen board member Folker Weissgerber has been relieved of some production responsibilities to give him more time to focus on VW's business in China.

In April, Weissgerber will discuss expanding Chinese production with executives from VW's joint ventures in China.

Weissgerber will also investigate possible new export markets for Chinese-made VW models. Sources say VW will soon supply the Indonesian market with autos manufactured in China.
