Renault plans to produce 270,000 units a year of the Modus, its new compact minivan, in Spain.
The Modus is part of Renault's plan to add to its successful small car lineup. The model joins the Twingo, western Europe's top-selling minicar in 2003, and the Clio, the region's second-best seller among small-segment models.
The Modus will be built at Renault's Valladolid plant - Europe's second most productive passenger-car factory - starting at the end of June.
