MG Rover overcame a manufacturing and product development challenge to revive the Rover V8, a rear-wheel-drive flagship version of the Rover 75 sedan.

The challenge was converting the Rover 75 front-wheel-drive platform into a rwd model.

The V8 cars start life alongside their fwd mates, the Rover 75 and MG ZT, in the body shop of MG Rover's Longbridge, England, plant.

Once the V8 body shell is complete, it is moved to a special area where workers use plasma cutters to remove the main floor, center cross member and lower dash panel.
