Fritz Henderson takes over as head of General Motors Europe on June 1. Interim CEO Bob Lutz, who is setting Henderson's agenda, will leave his replacement a clear message: more cost savings are needed in Europe.
GM Europe has come a long way in recent years.
Opel more or less met its Olympia restructuring targets. GM's German subsidiary has slashed 25,000 jobs, cut production capacity by 800,000 units and shaved around [euro]2 billion off its costs in the past three years.
