Carlos Ghosn is taking control of Nissan's North American operations and shedding many of his other responsibilities as he heads into his final year at Nissan headquarters in Tokyo.
Top North American executives now report directly to Ghosn, who is Nissan Motor Co.'s CEO, and not to Executive Vice President Norio Matsumura.
Ghosn will chair a monthly US management committee meeting in the US, while remaining based in Japan.
