Fiat hires VW US quality chief

TURIN - Fiat Auto has hired Stefan Ketter, a top US Volkswagen executive, to boost product quality.

Ketter, VW's quality and engineering director in America, will be the Italian automaker's new head of quality.

Ketter, 46, was born in Brazil but graduated in mechanical engineering at Munich in Germany.

Ketter is a former colleague of new Fiat Auto CEO Herbert Demel at Audi and VW Latin America.
