Even as Toyota was launching the first Corolla Verso medium minivan in Europe two years ago, its replacement was already under development.
"What the end user wants and needs are changing very rapidly," said Seiya Nakao, chief engineer, product planning division for Toyota Europe. "We felt we really had to respond to the changing needs in Europe."
The old Verso - designed for global sale and built in Toyota's Takaoka plant in Japan - will be withdrawn from Europe in May after only about two years on sale.
