Spyker, one of Europe's smallest carmakers, raised [euro]11.5 million last week in a move that will help it finance an ambitious tripling of its sales.

Dutch entrepreneur Victor Muller resurrected the Spyker brand in 2000. It is a reincarnation of the Amsterdam-based car company that built the world's first four-wheel-drive car in 1903. The original Spyker went into liquidation in 1925.

Muller has put all his money in the new Spyker company. He sold his first cars, 16 Audi V-8-powered vehicles, in 2003 but lost [euro]4.81 million on [euro]2.9 ...
