Executives with German supplier Robert Bosch recently shared their views on the integration and networking of car electronics. Bosch has data that shows that about 1 million lines of software code are needed today to make a modern-day car work. That total will rise above 100 million lines before the end of the decade. It stood at 100 lines in 1970.
A few days later, I was given a ride in Volkswagen's top-of-the-line Phaeton and my attention was drawn to the large "reset" button on the dashboard.
