In today's competitive market, even a high-end carmaker such as Porsche cannot raise prices significantly.
Although "every panel and piece of skin" on the 2005 911 sport coupe is new, Porsche says the price of the base Carrera will not be significantly higher than its predecessor. The new 911 will be priced at [euro]64,700 in Europe. The old model costs [euro]64,100.
The Carrera's price has risen only 9 percent since the launch of the previous generation in 1996.
