VW Bratislava has been driving the Slovak economy. Revenue in 2003 was [euro]4.5 billion, up 68 percent from 2002.
The growth was fueled by high demand for premium SUVs. Bratislava is the sole source for the VW Touareg.
It also builds and paints the bodies for the Porsche Cayenne and does much of the final assembly work before shipping the car.
