The auto sector boom in countries such as Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary will help the new European Union member countries retain skilled labor.

The quality of the labor pool, coupled with low wages and the new EU membership are key reasons many automakers are moving production facilities into the region.

Analysts say that while some will explore opportunities in the west, only workers with the best engineering qualifications can find jobs in Germany, France, Spain or Italy.
