Foreign suppliers can get a bigger piece of Nissan's business, but they may have to come to China to do it.

Those who supply Nissan in China also will have an opportunity to supply Nissan's worldwide operations, said Dongfeng Motor Co. President Katsumi Nakamura in an interview.

"It is not so difficult to get Nissan's business," Nakamura said. All foreign suppliers need to do is meet Nissan's criteria for quality, cost, delivery and product development, he said.

But few local suppliers in China have made the grade.
