Renault says a key attraction of the Logan - besides a sales price as cheap as [euro]5,000 - will be low maintenance costs.
The French automaker hopes that by keeping maintenance costs down it will persuade consumers in developing markets to buy a Logan instead of a second-hand model from another western manufacturer.
The Logan will cost half as much to service as a Renault Megane and will also be significantly cheaper to maintain than locally built rivals in Romania, says Jean-Yves Francois, Dacia's director for servicing.
