When Toyota and PSA/Peugeot-Citroen's joint-venture plant starts pilot production in August, it will be with machinery already proved in Japan.
Virtually all of the plant's production equipment comes from Toyota's Japanese suppliers. So Toyota is installing the conveyors, presses, welders and related equipment in a spare hall in Toyota City to verify it works correctly before it is shipped to Kolin, says Masatake Enomoto, president of Toyota Peugeot Citroen Automobile.
