Volkswagen group Chairman Bernd Pischetsrieder is tightening his grip on Europe's biggest automaker - just as VW's problems mount on several fronts.
Pischetsrieder could hire DaimlerChrysler executive Wolfgang Bernhard to head the VW brand.
As part of several moves this month, Stefan Jacoby, 46, was promoted to head of VW group marketing operations. He joined VW in April from Mitsubishi Motors Europe.
