The growth in Europe of multibrand dealerships could create a "corporate identity nightmare" for automakers.

Customer loyalty and brand value will be lost as increasing numbers of showrooms display models from different manufacturers under one roof.

The growth of multibrand dealerships is one outcome of the new block exemption car sales regime in Europe. The new retail rules were the focus of a panel discussion during the Automotive News Europe Congress.
