Japan buys more European parts
TOKYO - Japanese automakers sharply increased their purchases of European-made parts and components in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2004.
Total purchases rose 22 percent to a record ?9.7 billion, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers' Asso-ciation said. It was the steepest rise since JAMA began tracking those purchases in the year ended March 1997.
