Toyota Motor Corp.'s latest compact car, the Porte, derives its name from the French word for its most significant feature: its door.
Much like the Peugeot 1007, the Porte's passenger door automatically slides open to create an entrance measuring 1002mm by 1265mm. That is large enough for a parent and child to walk through together, Toyota says.
