Volvo will keep developing the 3CC concept car it unveiled in Shanghai last week and could manufacture a car based on the idea.

The concept displayed in China is designed to show Volvo's vision of sustainable future mobility.

The 3CC features three seats, a tapered body and an electric powertrain that Volvo claims can propel the car to a top speed of 135kph.

On October 12, the 3CC, powered by lithium-ion batteries similar to those in laptop computers, did 24 laps on the 5.1km Shanghai Formula One circuit at a minimum speed of 72kph.
