Fiat, PSA will build new van in Turkey

TURIN - Fiat Auto and PSA/Peugeot-Citroen plan to build a car-derived van in Turkey.

The new model will be based on the Fiat Palio platform and will be smaller than the automakers' existing car-derived vans, the Fiat Doblo Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner.

Said PSA spokeswoman Erika Louis-Roy: "It's an expansion of our range. It does not herald a cut-back in PSA's existing commercial-vehicle production."

The van will be built at the Tofas (Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi) plant in Bursa, Turkey.
