Automotive News Europe, November, 2004

Maximum torque brakes are being developed to improve stopping power by using smaller components.
HOW IT WORKS
Maximum torque brakes use a floating disc so when the brakes are applied the disc 'finds' where it should be on the calliper. The result is up to 70 percent more stopping power. Other benefits are that vehicles can be fitted with smaller, lighter braking systems and do not require such large wheels to encase them. There is also a reduced need for cooling ducts, lowering costs.
